Jane Davis is founding partner of RiskOnBoard and an experienced risk management and change management professional. She built the Global Risk and Compliance function at RBC Investments, leading this function for the wealth management division of RBC Financial Group for five years. Ms. Davis sits as an independent director on three corporate boards after obtaining her ICD (Institute of Corporate Directors) designation in early 2006. Ms. Davis also is a member of five Independent Review Committees in the fund sector. She is  also on the Executive Advisory Council of the Strategic Risk Council of the Conference Board of Canada. 

 

Don Hathaway is a partner in RiskOnBoard. He is currently a professional corporate director specializing in corporate governance, strategy and organization to build shareholder value. Multiple turn-around or work-out projects have made him a strong advocate for risk-based analysis and strategy. His career has spanned manufacturing, management consulting, business and academia, with over half spent at senior executive levels, gaining expertise in strategy, marketing, finance, general management and corporate governance.  He has served as a director on more than 30 boards in committee and board chair roles in public, private and NFP sectors. He is the Vice Chair, Small Business, of the Ontario Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors and the author of two books on corporate governance. 

 

Ron Schwartz is a partner in RiskOnBoard. He is a seasoned executive consultant, with experience in business strategy and execution, technology strategy and implementation, especially focused on all aspects of risk management. He is a former PwC Consulting Partner, and IBM Executive. He has over 25 years of deep business and technology experience, including a role as an Interim CIO of a Canadian airline, where part of his direct operational responsibilities related to risk management and operational risk reduction. Ron is also the managing partner of Adante Consulting, a multi-city consulting firm specializing in strategic, risk, technology and project management consulting. In addition to consulting responsibilities, he is an author, conference speaker, and addresses many different aspects of risk in his work.  His background includes consulting to all sizes of organizations, in many industries, in both public and private sectors. He has an MBA and is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). 

 

Eamonn McConnell is partner in RiskOnBoard and a partner of EM Partners, a Private Equity firm he co-founded in 2002, which is based in Singapore.  Mr. McConnell is also the Deputy Chairman of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) Canada. For over 20 years, Mr. McConnell has been involved in investment banking and the fund management business. He has worked in Canada, the UK and Asia during his career. He has worked for many large international institutions including Barclays Global Investors, Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch. In the late nineties through 2002 he was an MD at Deutsche Bank responsible for the pricing, underwriting and risk management of Deutsche Bank’s debt new issue business (Asia and Europe). His areas of activity have ranged from capital markets work in both debt and equity products, the establishment of a mutual fund investment management company and the subsequent launch of several funds, to the establishment of a private equity fund investment management company. Mr. McConnell has been an active investor in all types of assets and the management of risk products.

 

W. William Woods LL.B, a partner in RiskOnBoard, is a lawyer, admitted to practice in Bermuda, England, Wales and Hong Kong. He was a solicitor with Linklaters & Paines in Hong Kong where he specialized in corporate finance work. He served as Legal Counsel to the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, and then he co-founded the International Securities Consultancy, a consulting group based in Hong Kong and London that specializes in advising on the development of both emerging and mature securities markets. From August 1995 to December 2001 he was the CEO of the Bermuda Stock Exchange.  Since January 2002, Mr. Woods has been an independent financial services consultant. His assignments include advising the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on a new code of best practice regarding the Corporate Governance of listed companies; serving for twelve months as the Entrepreneur-in-Residence at an e-commerce venture capital fund in Bermuda; and advising a specialist, offshore hedge fund administrator. He is currently the Chairman and CEO of WWWoods & Co. Limited based in Toronto, Canada. Mr. Woods serves as an independent director on the boards of a number of hedge funds with assets under management ranging from $10 million to over $3 billion.
