‎For personal reasons, Eduardo Castro-Wright the former leader of Mexican ‎operations for Wal-Mart, which is now embroiled in a bribery scandal, has ‎resigned.

Castro-Wright said in the letter of resignation that he must now focus on ‎‎“protecting my good name and business reputation.”  And maybe defending ‎himself from allegations under the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act ‎‎(FCPA).

Castro-Wright joined the MetLife Boards (he served on two related Boards) ‎in 2008.‎

Risk Management Perspective:

Net the move is good for MetLife, regardless of whether it was initiated by ‎them or by Castro-Wright as reported.  Other Boards where former ‎implicated Wal-Mart executives are involved may also look at their ‎situations.
